Annual membership dues are $545.00 and your membership in our local association automatically guarantees your membership in the Home Builders Association of Georgia as well as the National Association of Home Builders. The state association has offices located in Atlanta for legislative purposes and the staff includes a full time lobbyist. The National Association of Home Builders has offices in Washington, D.C. where the staff has access to Congress, the White House, FHA, VA, HUD and the many other governmental offices that impact YOUR industry. All three groups – LOCAL, STATE and NATIONAL – exist for one purpose… to serve the industry through YOU, the member.
Membership meetings are held the third Tuesday of each month, complete with program. Any member can host a monthly membership meeting at their place of business, showroom or office building. A short association business meeting will be held followed by the member host providing a presentation. The only requirement is that this meeting be held at 12noon and sponsoring member provide lunch. Reminders are sent out monthly with date and location. We do not have meetings in July or December due to the holiday schedule.
There are many networking opportunities including our monthly membership meetings as well as our annual Golf Tour- nament and Diamonds and Denim event. Other major events include our Showcase Home, Legislative Reception, and Political Forum.
We have many standing and special event committees for which we always need volunteers. If you want to have a voice in your association, get involved. Your decision to join will enable our association to become bigger and better!
The Home Builders Association of Middle Georgia is a non-profit organization which is comprised of professionals in all branches of the building industry. The purpose of this group is to bring home ownership within the reach of every family in this area of Middle Georgia and to further high standards of professionalism and methods among its members. The Home Builders Association of Middle Georgia maintains a membership of approximately 135 member firms, made up of builders and those businesses in related industries. The organization serves as the united voice for the building in- dustry in this area.
This professional trade association was organized in 1955 to help local builders and others involved with home construc- tion to better contend with their problems through collective action and better address issues critical to the survival and success of the industry. There are many regulations and requirements as well as legislative goals that are of interest and concern. Some of these include building codes, licensing, mortgage, finance, and environmental issues. The ongoing ed- ucational opportunities and seminars offered through the Home Builders Association of Middle Georgia provide our members with opportunities to discuss and develop solutions to their concerns and problems within an action-oriented organization. We seek to strengthen our relationships with city and county planning commissions and other rulemaking bodies to assure that our member’s interest are represented and protected. As a result of responsible representation, offi- cials have come to seek the advice and cooperation from the Association in regard to these and many other vital activi- ties.
An important by-product of the Association lies with the fellowship and good will generated during exchanges of ideas at meetings and the interesting programs presented. Our Association serves as an open forum for builders and related industry professionals to meet, to exchange information about industry opportunities and trends, to network their busi- ness with other members and to recognize the success of each other.
